| Storycard Theater author Hazuki Kataoka presents “Japanese Paper Theater Storytelling: Interactive Culture for Your Classroom.” This workshop will demonstrate how the visual storytelling format called kamishibai can help children develop literacy and enable teachers to tell stories rather than simply reading them. Participants will discuss kamishibai lesson plans, learn how to make their own kamishibai decks, and learn insider performance techniques from experienced storytellers.
